GREEN DEWAS MISSION

St. Mary’s Convent Senior Secondary School, Dewas in collaboration with St. Mary’s Convent Alumni Association organised a PLANTATION DRIVE on 25 June 2023. This noble initiative was undertaken as a part of the Dewas administration to green the Shankargarh hills which is considered as the pride of Dewas.
About 400 students and fifty staff members reached the Shankargarh hills in the early hours of the day. Green Army, Shankargarh and alumni members welcomed every one. Shri. Dinesh Singh Chouhan had given instructions for trekking and plantation. Staff members and students trekked the hill and sowed the seeds on different parts of the hill. Students participated enthusiastically in the activity by being a part of the mission.
After the plantation drive a short gathering was held including the Collector of Dewas Rishabh Gupta, DPC Pradeep Jain, BRC Kishore Verma, DFO Pradeep Kumar Mishra, Vice Principal of the school Sr. Maria Goreti, Sudhir Pandit member of school Alimni, Samarjeet Singh Jadhav, Dinesh Singh Chouhan, and many other members of the Green Army. The gathering highlighted the problem of global warming and the need for afforestation.
Enthused and enlightened student representatives shared their experience of being part of the mission and they were highly appreciated by the collector.
It was really an enriching and memorable experience for everyone to green Mother Earth in an attempt to 'Think globally and act locally.'
